Dear NAR Members,

Our industry is under attack. The recent settlement involving the National Association of Realtors (NAR) has put buyer agent compensation at risk, potentially reshaping the real estate landscape in ways that harm both professionals and consumers. This settlement could raise costs for buyers and limit the ability of homeowners to grow equity.

In my latest video, I break down the myths surrounding this settlement and explain why it's critical for Realtors to take action now. Buyer agent compensation structures have always been market-driven, but this settlement threatens to upend them, creating unnecessary barriers for home buyers and sellers.

NAR’s Inaction: Why We Must Lead the Fight

NAR has a history of mobilizing members on key issues like flood insurance and tax deductions. Yet, despite this massive threat to our livelihoods, there has been no organized effort to address the settlement’s consequences. We must demand NAR push for a narrow antitrust exemption that allows sellers to offer compensation to buyer agents without it being mandatory—restoring balance and protecting consumer choice.

How You Can Help

This is a fight for the future of our industry and the housing market as a whole. I urge you to read my Open Letter to NAR Members, which outlines the steps we must take to protect buyer agent compensation. We cannot wait for NAR to act—we must lead the charge ourselves.

Together, we can protect the real estate industry and ensure that buying a home remains accessible for everyone.

Sincerely,
Ralph Nudi
